Mary Bahr Schwenke, MS, CCC-SLP
Vice President, School-Based Therapy Services

Mary is an ASHA Certified, Wisconsin and Illinois licensed speech-language pathologist with over 25 years of clinical and supervisory experience. Mary has been employed as an MJ Care associate for over 20 years. During her tenure, she has developed and managed a therapy outpatient clinic, coordinated physical, occupational and speech therapy services in home-based, medical and school-based settings. She is currently the Vice President of School-Based Therapy Services and also serves as a Documentation Specialist for MJ Care's Medicaid School-based Services program that serves more than 300 school districts throughout Wisconsin and Iowa. She supervises speech-language pathologists during their Clinical Fellowship (CF) experience to meet their requirements for the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).

She is past President of the Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Association (WSHA). Mary holds the Certificate of Telepractice Competence issued by the National Center for Speech Telehealth - Waldo General Hospital. In addition, she is an active member of the Illinois Speech-Language Hearing Association (ISHA) and National Alliance for Medicaid in the Schools (NAME).

Based on Mary’s professional qualities and significant contributions to the Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Association, Mary was awarded the 2016 WSHA Salutes Outstanding Service Award. In 2019, Mary was again recognized with the WSHA President's Award.

Mary has demonstrated professional excellence by educating and enhancing public and political awareness regarding the roles and responsibilities of speech-language pathology and audiology professionals, advocating for the highest qualified provider and educating others on the impact of speech-­language-­hearing problems. She displays outstanding motivation, dedication, leadership and passion for her career and is a role model for the profession.
